My name is David and I was raised as a JW from the age of around 4 and remained within it for 49 years. I married Christine (who had been raised in it since birth and was loyal to it for 52 years) in 1967 we got married in Southampton (Shirley) Kingdom Hall and we had 2 daughters and raised them both as JWs from birth. Our oldest daughter Naomi died age 49 on 21st December 2017 from aggressive cancer and a stroke. 

I was appointed an Elder in Portswood, Southampton Congregation back in 1975 when only 28 years of age. I served there as a PO, Bible Study Overseer, WT Overseer and Theocratic School Overseer. I also served as a Regular Pioneer as did Christine for a number of years.  I also served as an Elder in Northern England Towns during the 1980's.

We Both finally got out of the oppressive religion during June 2001, shortly after the death of my Mother in January 2001. She had served as a Regular Pioneer with my Father for many years who was also an Elder (Congregation Servant) and served where the 'Need was Great' and set up a Congregation in Clevedon, Somerset. It was very strange when my Father died; as I heard a voice in my head saying: "Don't worry Dave, his Spirit is safe with me" Often in later years before my Dad died in January 1994 I questioned the teachings even then. I said why do we need this organisation as the Bible just tells us that if we believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, we will be saved. I remember him saying; "Well I do believe he is my Saviour and we know we are sinners"...to which I replied, so why do we need them? He just said he was not interested in the Society, just serving Jehovah as best as he could.  So I believed after the Lord told me that, he had gone to be with him. I was gradually releasing from their lies and knew that their 1914 generation teaching was false even then, I remember saying to my Dad, we would probably be dead before Armageddon came and that was difficult as he was expecting it to come any day. It took another 6 years or so, for us to finally get out and that was after I could read all the stuff that so called Apostates had written. I got online in November 1999 and the first thing I searched for, was JWs.   

So with all of my family now dead (A younger brother dying early in 1967 and sister dying in 2000) , I now realised that the JW teaching that we would NEVER Die, was proven false as it has for Millions of JWs over many years.

Judge Rutherford (2nd President of the Watchtower) preached and wrote a book in 1919 entitled 'Millions Now Living WILL Never Die' Of course that was a terrible false prophecy or LIE as we call it. If you click on the link, the book is available on Amazon.  The Watchtower hoped no one would notice when they changed the WILL to MAY over the years and they continue with their false teachings.  New ones in the religion will be totally un-aware of this and the many other changes over the years.  The WT have a name for this, it is called 'New Light' and yet they continue to call it the 'Truth' so we ask, when was it the truth? Was it 1879. 1914, 1925, 1975 or now? Truth does not change.

We recently returned to England after serving in Cyprus as Christian Missionaries for 10 years and saw a number of Greek Cypriots accept Yeshua/Isous/Jesus Christ as their Saviour. We also witnessed to a number of JWs whilst there.  We also Pastored a small Church for around 3 years during that time.
